Emergency Overflow Lodging
The need for an emergency overflow shelter has been met with the remodeling of some of the New Beginnings property at 400 West 2nd. The Emergency Overflow Lodging will be open 365 nights a year and will allow for immediate housing for 15 people a night with the potential of another 15.
The Overflow Lodging has three family rooms, a dormitory for single men, a dormitory for single women, showers, lockers, and a kitchen and dining room where breakfast and dinner will be served. The Lodge will open at 5:30 p.m. and close at 7:00 a.m. During the day, the New Beginnings Emergency Housing Specialist will meet with the guests to help them find the community resources and housing that they need. At night, there will be a combination of staff and volunteers.
New Beginnings is excited about this long needed service (read more about the shelter at this link)
